OA Saints WRFC

Forthcoming events

The Women’s Rugby section at OA’s was established at Woollams in 2002 when they moved from St Albans RFC – hence the nostalgic moniker ‘Saints’ – and they have gone from strength to strength. Over 52 players are now members of the Saints with new and younger players attracted to the club with the promise of a larger and stronger women’s rugby scene at Woollams for years to come!

The start of the 2005/6 season saw the Saints start on a high with promotion to National Premiership League 2 and a host of records to their name on the back of a hugely successful 2004/2005 season where the Saints finished at the top of their league and were the only team in South East League 1 to maintain a one

hundred per cent unbeaten record. They also notched up an unprecedented tally of 1121 points for with only 108 scored against in 29 games. Two of those games, against Medway and Marlow, saw the Saints whitewash their opposition with 100-0 scores.

A second team to develop our new players has been established in South East North division 4 and are currently unbeaten in their league and a girls’ section for 12-17 year olds is also being set up to bring on the new young talent in the area. Newcomers to rugby and experienced players are always very welcome. Our committed and enthusiastic coaching team caters for all levels!
